Water and Light Photography Workshop
With Ricky Tims
September 29 – October 4, 2025
Port of Kimberling | Kimberling City, Missouri
Step into the heart of the Ozarks for a week of inspiration, adventure, and photographic growth. This immersive workshop brings together stunning natural landscapes, hands-on instruction, and creative community—all on the sparkling shores of Table Rock Lake.
Be sure to browse the Image on the IMAGE GALLERY link above.
Welcome to the Ozarks
Kimberling City is nestled in the rolling hills of southwest Missouri and offers the perfect gateway to the region’s diverse charm. From rugged rock formations to wooded trails and crystal-clear waters, every moment here begs to be captured. You’ll be based at the Port of Kimberling, right on the lakefront.
We will visit Silver Dollar City, a one-of-a-kind theme park filled with beautifully manicured gardens, historic architecture, and artisan culture—an ideal place for photo inspiration.
Talk about photo inspiration, we will make an excursion to Dogwood Canyon Nature Park. Tucked away in the Ozark Mountains, Dogwood Canyon Nature Park is a haven for photographers seeking untamed beauty and unforgettable backdrops. With its cascading waterfalls, crystal-clear streams, rugged limestone cliffs, and vibrant seasonal foliage, every turn offers a frame-worthy scene. From wildlife like bison and elk to rustic stone bridges and winding forest trails, Dogwood Canyon delivers pure photographic magic. A two-hour tram tour is optional for those wanting to delve deeper into the canyon.
Want even more visual inspiration? You will experience an iconic and unique woodland chapel that is the perfect fusion of nature with architecture. The glass-clad Thorncrown Chapel rises like a cathedral of trees and reaches skyward in wonderment.
The entertainment opportunities are endless. Consider staying extra days (or arrive early) to explore the multitude of opportunities that await. Nearby, Branson, Missouri provides access to world-class entertainment, museums, theaters, and music venues. The Titanic Museum is highly-prized and remarkable. You can stand on a million-dollar replica of Titanic's famous Grand Staircase and plunge your hand into the icy cold waters of the North Atlantic. The Butterfly Palace boasts of having a population of more than 1000 live butterflies, numerous tropical birds, reptiles, and plants. It houses more than 50 different types of butterflies worldwide and you can be assured that a visit there would be a photographer's delight.
